Digital inclusion Services

We turn redundant technology into lasting opportunities

At Reconome, we believe everyone deserves access to the digital world. But today, over 11 million people in the UK lack essential digital skills or access to technology.

Our belief, our mission

We worry about children in schools without access to the devices they need to learn; elderly people without the technology or skills to access basic services; and underserved communities struggling to improve their lives. This is why Reconome exists.

We don’t just offer ITAD services; we use repurposed technology to drive measurable change and lasting opportunities for those who need it most.

Our digital inclusion initiatives can either be the end result of our market-leading ITAD services, or a standalone initiative in partnership with organisations that want to make a difference.

Real change in action

We partner with local councils, housing associations, education providers and charities to:

  • Deliver refurbished devices to households in need
  • Create lending libraries in public spaces to improve community access
  • Provide digital skills training and onboarding
  • Empower jobseekers and school pupils with the tools to prosper
  • Create bespoke initiatives that connect with our customers’ chosen causes

Charity partner feedback

“The donated equipment, particularly laptops and dongles to access the 5G network, has been transformational. The power supply where Project Harar have their offices in Ethiopia is not dependable, and the team were trying to deliver support for families while working on old devices with poor connectivity. The technology we’ve been given has meant the team can do things that we would often take for granted. They are now able to consistently serve vulnerable members of rural communities to raise awareness about treatments available for cleft conditions and then enable them to access those treatments directly.”

CEO, Project Harar

Reconome and Good Things Foundation

Reconome is proud to be the tech partner of Good Things Foundation, the UK’s leading digital inclusion charity.

Reconome’s end-to-end device processing operations power the National Device Bank, which provides refurbished laptops, mobile phones and tablets to individuals who may not have access to a device.

Devices can be paired with free connectivity from the National Databank and are distributed across the National Digital Inclusion Network, directly into the hands of people who can’t access their own. Charities can join the network here.
