Erasure
NIST 800-88 Rev.2 and IEEE 2883-2022 with Blancco. Purge by default, Clear as the documented fallback. Shredding only for media that cannot be securely erased, or on request: 20mm as standard, 6mm for Top Secret. An erasure certificate for every device, and destruction certificates for anything shredded.
Chain of custody
Collections by Reconome or an ADISA and ISO accredited partner, nationwide and international. Vetted, DBS-checked drivers. Hard-sided, zero-livery, tamper-evident vehicles with slam locks, GPS-tracked with CCTV. Counted and signed at both ends, asset-tagged, reconciled within 48 hours.

Which types of IT equipment do you collect and refurbish?
We focus our skills and partnerships on laptops (including chargers), desktop PCs, tablets and mobile devices, monitors and screens, and servers and network switches. If you have something else, speak to the team.
Are you fully Environment Agency compliant?
Yes. Reconome is an Environment Agency registered waste carrier. The aim is always for working equipment to be reused, so we ask clients to separate non-working devices from working ones: only the non-working devices are treated as waste. For those, you are provided with a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note (also serving as a Waste Transfer Note) on the date of collection. Any equipment deemed faulty once received is disassembled, and components and raw materials responsibly recycled by an accredited Approved Authorised Treatment Facility. A record is kept for each device to show its final destination, and is summarised in your reports.
Can I sell my devices?
Every partnership starts with the same end goal: environmental impact, and social impact through digital inclusion. Most of your devices are sold on. The proceeds cover our logistics and processing, and the remainder funds digital inclusion programmes and bespoke device packages: a programme with your name on it, and proof it worked. The devices that suit a programme go to people directly. If you want a rebate as well, that is a conversation we can have, but it sits outside our core purpose and the standard agreement most customers sign.
